La Fortuna has an elevation of 350 feet above sea level and is best known as the base from which to explore the magnificent Arenal Volcano and National Park. Located north of the Tilaran Mountains, this spectacularly beautiful, cone-shaped volcano rises out of the flat San Carlos Plains. Naturally heated thermal springs originate from its depth, so several places in the area offer the chance to be surrounded by nature while soaking and relaxing on the mineral waters. The fabulous mountains, lake, natural reserves, rivers, canopy tours, culture tours, hot springs and rainforest, make this a favorite holiday destination. From Arenal it´s easy to get to Monteverde and other Guanacaste areas, the rural roads take travelers through splendid landscape of vast pasturelands.

  • Before the active period of 1968, a lavish canopy of vegetation covered the Arenal Volcano. People that climbed Arenal’ s summit related that inside the crater there were big trees and at night, they slept in places where there was some heat due to small steam outlets. Enjoy the most extraordinary view of the Arenal Volcano on a gentle Hike along the base of this marvelous volcano. The Hike begins in one the trails close to the volcano, this trail will take you through the forest over recent lava flows and the area destroyed in 1968 now in the process of regeneration. You are going to be on this trail for about 2 ½ hours. At the hot springs our customers can enjoy a healthy and relaxing soak, it is also possible to see the sunset over the Arenal Volcano from a comfortable spa.

  • After an adventure ride through narrow streets lined by refreshing vegetation and blue - green mountains, you will arrive at the Lake Dam dock after a 15 to 30-minute ride to board the boat that will take you to Monteverde while navigating the Arenal Lake… with great views of the imposing Arenal Volcano and its surroundings. Arenal Lake is the largest of the country, and it is manmade, it was extended from a smaller lake to produce hydroelectric energy for a vast part of the country. The boat ride takes about 30 minutes. Afterwards, your land transportation will take you to town, and the quiet and cool cloud forest will welcome you.

Monteverde is found at 3000 feet above sea level in the Tilaran Mountains of northwestern Costa Rica. This is one of the country’s most famous places and a world class example of conservation by a local community.  Originally a small forest reserve set aside by the Quakers who settled the area more than 50 years ago to protect the watershed for their dairy industry. Monteverde’s protected areas now cover nearly 30.000 hectares of private reserves, including the Monteverde Cloud Forest and the Santa Elena Reserves and the Children’s Eternal Rainforest. There are many nature sites with picturesque trails, hanging bridges, bat, and frog exhibits. Santa Elena is the hub for commercial and tourism-based services. There are many lodging options, small restaurants, and exciting tours to enjoy amazing views of the Nicoya Gulf, appreciate the immense biodiversity of the place and absorb the history and culture of this Costa Rican corner.

  • You will begin a walk through natural trails with a variety of habitats where you can enjoy bird watching in the open areas of the primary and secondary forest. This tour starts at the lowest part in a private property, where you will begin a walk through natural trails with a variety of habitats where you can enjoy bird watching in the open areas of the primary and secondary forest. This property adjoins the Monteverde Cloud Forest, which includes the Tropical Pre-montane Moist Forest at the beginning of the tour and the Tropical Montane Moist Forest in other parts, which is preferred by many species of birds. In these trails there have been spotted up to one hundred bird species in a day.

  • Travelling south bound through the stunning Central Pacific, the small agricultural town of Quepos welcomes visitors and a tree lined, cliff top road leads to Manuel Antonio offering glimpses of spectacular forest and beach. This renowned touristic town sits up in the hills overlooking the vibrant Pacific Ocean framed by green, luscious vegetation. The highlight here is the marvelous Manuel Antonio National Park, an amazing combination of rainforest that grows right down to the three white sand beaches that are part of the park, which protects several habitats, including primary and secondary forest, mangroves, beach vegetation and marine resources.
