La Fortuna has an elevation of 350 feet above sea level and is best known as the base from which to explore the magnificent Arenal Volcano and National Park. Located north of the Tilaran Mountains, this spectacularly beautiful, cone-shaped volcano rises out of the flat San Carlos Plains. Naturally heated thermal springs originate from its depth, so several places in the area offer the chance to be surrounded by nature while soaking and relaxing on the mineral waters. The fabulous mountains, lake, natural reserves, rivers, canopy tours, culture tours, hot springs, and rainforest, make this a favorite holiday destination. From Arenal it´s easy to get to Monteverde and other Guanacaste areas, the rural roads take travelers through splendid landscape of vast pasturelands.

Silently glide along Costa Rica’s Gold Coast while passing some of Guanacaste’s exotic bays, white sand beaches and tropical jungles. Gaze off the bow with a cold tropical drink prepared and served by our crew as you scan the seas for dolphins, sea turtles, flying fish or even a breaching whale. Stop in a tranquil bay, drop anchor and frolic in the blue Pacific. Snorkel in the bay or run down the deserted white sand beach while the ever helpful crew prepares a feast of chicken or pasta salad, fruit, chips, “Pico de gallo”, guacamole and homemade chocolate chip cookies.

Set your watch to your new time zone a few days before you leave home. Some experts say that thinking ahead can make a huge difference. Also, adjusting your sleep schedule by a couple of hours in the week before you leave can help ease the transition.
If you are setting off on a big trek, give yourself at least a full day to relax and reset the mind and the body. Practice some activities that are interesting and engaging but not too physically demanding.
We all love free wine and coffee on international flights, but while these substances may feel like they are helping regulate your internal clock, they are really dehydrating you.
Getting natural sunlight as you safely can and avoiding bright lights and screens at nighttime will help your internal clock start to get a read on your new time zone.
